David comes to Closure ADR with over 25 years of experience as a commercial litigator and conflict resolution expert. He has negotiated successfully in a wide variety of matters, including complex real estate disputes and workouts, claims against corporate officers and directors in both large and small companies, controversies involving corporate and construction law, and disputes involving partnership and professional liability.

A former senior partner in the Atlanta firm of Alston and Bird, David served from 1997 until January 2004 as the United States Trustee for the Region 21 Bankruptcy Court (encompassing Georgia, Florida, Puerto Rico and the United States Virgin Islands). A significant part of that position involved formulating and executing local Federal court mediation rules, as well as shouldering leadership responsibilities in the non-judicial resolution of Federal court matters.

David has served as Arbitrator and as Special Master appointed by the Georgia Supreme Court on a number of occasions. He is a former president of the Atlanta Bar Association and is a Fellow in the American College of Bankruptcy. David was also the founding director and president of the Southeastern Bankruptcy Law Institute.

Before accepting his Federal Trustee appointment, David was profiled as a Debtor and Creditor's Rights Specialist in The Best Lawyers in America for 16 consecutive years.
