David M. Zacks is a litigator and partner in the
international law firm of Kilpatrick Stockton based in Atlanta,
Georgia. He specializes in handling personal injury and complex
litigation matters on behalf of plaintiffs and defendants. He has
served as President of the Antitrust Section of the State Bar of Georgia.
He also served as a Director of the Georgia Academy of Healthcare Attorneys.
David is active in organizations which promote the use of alternative
dispute resolution techniques serving as a neutral on numerous panels.
David received his B.A. and J.D. with honors from Wake Forest University.
He then served in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the United States
Army from 1967 until 1971. He was appointed special defense counsel in
a My Lai related trial. He was also certified as a military judge (one
of the youngest in the Army). He is a member of the Georgia and North
Carolina Bar Associations, and he is admitted to practice in the United
States Supreme Court.
Active in the American Cancer Society, Mr. Zacks is Immediate Past
Chairman of its national organization. He is also interested in the global
fight against cancer. He was recently elected to serve on the Council
of the International Union Against Cancer based in Geneva, Switzerland.
David also serves as an instructor in the American Cancer Society University
training scholars from abroad on strengthening the capacity of developing
cancer societies.
David was President of the Legal Clinic for the Homeless in Atlanta
and recipient of the Palmer Ansley Leadership Award from
the Atlanta Bar Association. He also served on the Executive Board of
University Hospital Health Care Foundation as well as being a Trustee
of Leadership Georgia. This year, the State Bar of Georgia awarded David
its annual Justice Robert Benham Award for Community Service. David has
also been appointed to the Dean’s Advisory Board, Emory University
School of Medicine.
