Kenneth G. Menendez is the senior litigation partner in the Atlanta office of the law firm of Epstein, Becker & Green, P.C. His expertise is in complex business litigation, with concentrations in employment, financial transactions, construction, health care and general corporate litigation. Mr. Menendez also has extensive experience with mediation, arbitration and other forms of alternative dispute resolution. Mr. Menendez is a graduate of Vanderbilt University (magna cum laude) and Northwestern University School of Law. He has achieved an “AV” rating (highest possible rating) in the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory.
Mr. Menendez has advised a wide variety of large and small corporations throughout the United States, including Fortune 500 companies, start-up businesses and government entities. He has litigated a broad range of commercial disputes in local, state and federal courts, and before arbitration panels of the NASD, the NFA and the AAA. These disputes include employment disputes, trade secret disputes, covenants not to compete, insurance coverage disputes and disputes involving the construction of a major international airport, a 560-room California resort hotel, a multi-million dollar food processing plant in Utah, and a high-hazard RCC dam in Georgia. Mr. Menendez has also advised financial institutions, aviation companies, technology companies, physicians’ groups and contractors and has drafted comprehensive contract documents and legal strategies for numerous public and private entities.
Mr. Menendez is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and is the former Vice-Chairman of the State Bar’s Formal Advisory Opinion Board. He also served on the State Bar’s Special Committee to Redraft the Lawyer’s Code of Professional Conduct. Mr. Menendez is the former Chair of the Construction Law Committee of the General Practice Section of the American Bar Association. He was elected a Georgia Super Lawyer in 2004.
Mr. Menendez is also an experienced trainer and seminar leader. He has presented programs for such groups as the State Bar of Georgia Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the Banking Law Institute, the Northwest Center for Professional Studies, the Pennsylvania State University System, the Terminal Properties Exchange, Executive Enterprises, Inc., the National Construction Law Center and the National Institute of Municipal Law Officers. Program participants have consistently rated Mr. Menendez as a superior speaker and trainer. He is the author of Taming the Lawyers (Merritt Publishing, 1996). Mr. Menendez subsequently wrote and hosted an eight-part series on Georgia Public Television based on his book entitled Taming the Lawyers. The series first aired in the Spring of 2000.
