LYNN M. ROBERSON
Lynn M. Roberson practices litigation, particularly in the areas of premises liability for violent crime, other premises liability, sexual harassment and other discrimination cases, products liability, malicious prosecution, professional malpractice, and other personal injury law, as well as insurance coverage matters. Ms. Roberson has completed over 65 jury trials in these areas.

Ms. Roberson is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, the State Bar of Georgia, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association (chair of Premises Liability committee since its formation in 2002 and member of the Board of Directors 2003-2004, chair of Membership committee 2003-2004), and the Defense Research Institute (DRI). Ms. Roberson has been an elected member of the Board of Directors for the Litigation Section of the Atlanta Bar Association since 1999, currently serving as the chair. She has been appointed to the Atlanta Bar CLE Board of Trustees for a three year term, 2002-2005. She is Vice Chair of DRI's section on Trial Tactics and Techniques and is a member of DRI's Insurance Law committee. She will assume the position of chair of DRI's section on Trial Tactics and Techniques in 2004. She also served on DRI's 2003 National Nominating Committee. Ms. Roberson has been an invited teacher of trial advocacy for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, the Atlanta Bar Association, the Georgia Defense Lawyers Association Trial Academy (2001-2003), and Emory University School of Law. Ms. Roberson has been an Adjunct Professor of Law at Emory University School of Law in the LLM program in litigation. Ms. Roberson was certified as a civil trial advocate in 1990 by the National Board of Trial Advocacy. She is also a certified mediator. Lynn has been a frequent speaker at insurance law, trial tactics and techniques, and Premises Liability for Violent Crimes seminars for DRI, the State Bar of Georgia, and other groups. Ms. Roberson was an invited panelist on premises liability for the Georgia Council of State Court Judges meeting in May of 2001. She was named as a Georgia Super Lawyer in 2004. Only 5% of Georgia lawyers received this distinction. These lawyers were listed in the March 2004 issues of ATLANTA MAGAZINE and GEORGIA SUPER
LAWYERS magazine.

Ms. Roberson graduated cum laude from the University of Maryland in 1973 with a B.A. degree in psychology and received her law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School, cum laude, in 1979. She served as a legal writing instructor from 1977 to 1979 in law school. Ms. Roberson has served on the Board of the University of Minnesota Law Alumni Association.

Ms. Roberson is married to Henry M. Newkirk, who currently serves as a State Court trial judge in Fulton County, Georgia. They have a daughter, Kramer, who is a junior in high school.
