Mr. Dokson has practiced law in Atlanta for over thirty (30) years,
and has been involved in ADR activities for the past two
decades. His practice as both an advocate and an ADR neutral involves
a wide variety of commercial and civil matters. Over the past few years,
Mr. Dokson has mediated or arbitrated over one hundred cases, including:

Mr. Dokson is a frequent lecturer and trainer at CLE seminars on ADR
matters. He was a founding Board Member of the Neighborhood
Justice Center of Atlanta, one of the earliest mediation programs in
the
Atlanta area.
Mr. Dokson is currently a shareholder in the
Atlanta firm of Ellis, Funk, Goldberg, Labovitz & Dokson, P.C. He
attended Brown University and the London School of Economics. He has
a J.D. degree from the University of Chicago, where he was an Editor
of the Law Review, and an L.L.M. degree from the Harvard Law School.
Mr. Dokson began his legal career in 1969 with the Atlanta Legal Aid
Society, a program for which he served as Executive Director from 1974
to 1980. Since 1980, he has practiced as a partner with several Atlanta
firms, specializing in civil and commercial litigation and dispute resolution.
Mr. Dokson has also continuously served since 1984 as an Adjunct Professor
of Litigation at the Georgia State College of Law and at Emory Law School.
Mr. Dokson is certified as a neutral arbitrator and mediator by the
Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution, and serves as a mediator and arbitrator
on the commercial and complex case panels of both the Resolution Resources
Corporation and the American Arbitration Association. Mr. Dokson is also
a member of the Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution (SPIDR),
the American Registry of Arbitrators and the ADR sections of the American,
Georgia and Atlanta (Board Member) Bar Associations.
Mr. Dokson has been involved in many civic and professional activities.
He was one of the founders of the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers
Foundation (AVLF). He has been a Board Member of the Atlanta Legal Aid
Society for over twenty (20) years. And he currently serves on, or has
previously been a member of, the boards of the Paideia School, the Temple,
the Anti-Defamation League, the Downtown YMCA, the Governor's Office
of Consumer Affairs, and the Brown University National Alumni Schools
Program.
